*NEW* Drawing Entries HERE!

The Big Draw at Standby Saturday Poster Competition is a virtual venue and online Gallery where people of all ages and abilities can participate, focusing on the following themes:

‘I don’t waste energy because...’ OR ‘Switch off overnight, every night’
For younger artists – how do our actions affect other people and animal life around the world? For example, polar bears struggling to hunt on the shrinking arctic ice, and rising sea levels threatening coastal communities.

‘Shape the future – Designing for Sustainability with the Royal Academy of Engineering’
Older participants’ designs could address issues such as energy sufficiency, sustainable building materials & energy systems. All innovative ideas welcome!

Prizes will be awarded to the best entries in three age groups: 10 and under, 11–17s and 18 & over. All entries must be received by midnight on Saturday 13th October 2007. Please clearly state your name and age (if under 18) on your drawing or design, and include contact details in your email.

Standby Saturday will display the best entries in the virtual Gallery, and competition winners will be announced on Standby Saturday, 20th October 2007. Check the website for details. The judges’ decision is final.

Don’t forget: please display your drawings at home or in your office, school or local shop window to maximise event awareness and show support for Standby Saturday.

We are relying on you to help spread the word for this worthwhile UK green initiative – thank you.
